Iran’s “Wind and Fog” to premiere in Europe

TEHRAN -- Theaters in Germany, Austria and Sweden will screen Mohammad-Ali Talebi’s “Wind and Fog” in autumn 2011.
The film was warmly received in Berlinale, so I hope that it attracts the audiences in its international screening as well, Talebi told the Persian service of MNA.
The film, which won the Cinema Fairbindet award at Berlinale, is a story about an 8-year-old boy who loses his ability to speak after witnessing his mother being killed in an Iraqi rocket attack on Iran in 1980.
Brazilian journalists, filmmakers visit Isfahan historical sites
TEHRAN -- Brazilian journalists and documentarians visited the historical sites of Isfahan during the past week.
A group of eight journalists paid visits to historical sites of Isfahan in order to make documentaries to introduce Isfahan’s tourist attractions.
They previously visited Shiraz and they flew to Yazd to visit its historical sites.
Nader Mortezapur appointed Tehran Symphony Orchestra conductor
TEHRAN -- Nader Mortezapur was appointed as the permanent conductor of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra by the Music Office of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance
The last permanent conductor of the orchestra Sahbaii was appointed as permanent conductor of the orchestra in January 2008 and resigned in February 2010. The orchestra was led by different guest conductors over the past year.
Dagestan University publishes Persian-Chechen dictionary
TEHRAN -- Dagestan State University has recently published a Persian-Chechen dictionary.
The dictionary was compiled by the Iranology Center of the university and Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in Dagestan.
The dictionary was compiled by the Persian language scholar Israfil Efendiev and benefited from over 100 linguistics and literary sources.
Iranian culture minister visits counterparts from Muslim countries
TEHRAN -- Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini paid visits to his counterparts from different Muslim countries in Tlemcen.
During his visit with culture ministers from Qatar, Emirates, Palestine, Tunis, Maghreb, Guinea-Bissau, Comores and Sudan, Hosseini stressed on the expansion of cultural relations among these countries.
An Iranian delegation headed by Minister Hosseini travelled Algeria to attend the inauguration ceremony of Tlemcen as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2011 on April 13..
